About Course

ICS-100, Introduction to the Incident Command System, provides an introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS) and is a mandatory basis for further training in ICS. This course describes the history, characteristics, principles and organizational structure of the Incident Command System.

The course should provide a basic understanding of:

• Use of the Incident Command System (ICS)
• Organizational principles and elements of ICS
• ICS positions and roles with associated areas of responsibility
• ICS facilities and functions
• The operational planning process used in ICS
